$ffa |1-MUSIC TODAY |1-IS IT TOTALLY CRAP? $fff by dave diamond of the invaders... $faf Well is it? Thinking back to the 1980`s,the music then was very relaxing or had a nice beat to it,also emerged was the `rock` groups which combined loud but cool sounds now known as soft rock. I guess its all a matter of opinion, the music today is drab-face it,most of it is looped beyond belief with perfect examples being that of Doop, Clock and other bands,I personally cant stand SOME of the groups,2 Unlimited loop songs but are o.k to listen too, another perfect example is the former number 1 `Boom Boom Boom` by the Outhere Bros - what a crap song, looped LOADS of times and (for me) to listen to is annoying, how did this become a number one? $ffa [cos' it's ace - F.ed] $faf Now many people out there reading this may think that my views are `un cool` but i do like some music from the 80`s-when it was original and not copied and had a beat put on,great songs were from A-Ha,the Pet Shop Boys, Johnny Hates Jazz, and i guess even Bros - yes i know what your thinking but at least it was better than Boom Boom Boom! I guess that there must be some people out there who agree with me because old songs are coming back-just look at the success of Unchained Melody,it was number one for weeks, even though it was a rip off, going back a few years to Take Thats first single Could It Be Magic, this was a terrible mix taken from Barry Manilows classic (and beautifull) song, listen to them both and see what one you feel more emotional over for the song is about love not dancing around, yes i know this is seen as sissy to write but i feel todays music has taken the impact and emotion out of songs. $ffa [Bloody Hell! What a deep and profound statement, young man! - F.ed] $faf Even the 50`s 60`s and 70`s had awesome songs, Chubby Checker, the Bee Gees,ABBA were all major contributors to the world of music.Crazy as it sounds but some people like to listen to bag pipe music, why? Probably because its different and they too were fed up with the same old mush being sold every day.A couple of years ago music manafacturers were worried that computer game music would take over the music scene, and i suppose with rave and dance music you could agree with them. The music i now like is much different from the type you`d like, computer demo music is actually very good and i have taped more than one piece, another fantastic piece of music to listen to is that made by Japan - it (as far as i know) is impossible to get here in britain but i listened to the James Bond soundtrack of you only live twice and enjoyed it immensley and beats the pants off anything around today. $fff End.
